Crip Bits presents Va-Va-Voom: A Crip Dance Party!

Never been asked to a dance? Now you have!

Sins Invalid’s Crip Bits presents: Va-Va-Voom: A Crip Dance Party! Join us on Monday, April 20th, 2020 from 6:00-7:30pm PST in Sins Invalid’s Zoom room for a Crip dance party!!

Crips are resilient, beautiful, powerful, and important. In the middle of a pandemic, in a time when our community is facing rationed care and eugenic medical practices, Sins Invalid offers a space for celebration of our bodies and movement. Let’s dance!

Va-Va-Voom is a crip-centered space, and is open to everyone regardless of experience or dance prowess. You’re invited to be over the top - wear a wild outfit, do a wild move. Even if you feel shy, see if you can keep your camera on. Set up your space with a cool background or bring your cat or a stuffed animal into the frame with you. Try framing an eyebrow or shoulder up close to the camera and wiggle it in time with the music. If you’re feeling especially shy, turn the lights off and dance in the dark and play with the shadows.

This event will not be recorded, so you have to be there to experience it!
