Crip Bits presents: An Olympia Disability Justice Showcase

Join us on Monday, June 15 from 6:15-7:15 pm PST, for poetry, standup comedy, networking, and ideas for mobilizing our resources in support of each other and those who most need it. (Visit the FB event page here.)

This event highlights disabled artists of color, femmes, non-binary and trans folks who are based in Olympia, Washington, on Squaxin / Nisqually / Chehalis land. This majority-white college town & state capitol is home to lots of radical lefty folks, but continues to be dangerous and alienating for folks of color. Disability is rarely seen as a politicized identity, and intersectional community that includes disability is practically unheard of in these parts.

One of Sins Invalid’s goals is to build Disability Justice community that extends beyond the Bay Area. Please join us as Sins Invalid crew and Olympia performers host this regionally-specific Zoom performance, streamed on Facebook live! All are welcome to watch, but/and we especially appeal to folks in our neck of the woods to tune in and show your support for Disability Justice.

This event will have CART live transcription.

Crip Bits is an every-other-month talk show in which Sins Invalid and guests talk in-depth about issues facing crip communities. All episodes of Crip Bits are recorded and housed on the Sins Invalid Facebook page. Check out the Crip Bits playlist under the "Videos" tab!
