Be Transformed With Us
This month we welcome the bloom of spring time, and honor Asian American and Pacific Islanders and our/their heritages. We recognize the approaching one-year anniversary of the death of Disability Justice visionary Stacey Milbern Park. We also celebrate and mourn Black disabled ancestor and artist, George Floyd, and join in resistance with all uprisings for justice.
We are watching as some folks become vaccinated and access human touch and in-person connection, while many disabled and chronically ill people are waiting in continued isolation, unsure when the world might be safe enough to hold us. Amidst all this we continue to be grateful to our crip kin, impressed by the bad-assery of queer / Black / Indigenous / people of color / trans / non-binary crip survival, and committed to the transformative work of Disability Justice.
We also welcome a new staff member, Social Media and Community Engagement Specialist Cyrée Jarelle Johnson. We are so excited to welcome him to our crew, and you will definitely be feeling his impact in all our projects and communications. Welcome Cyrée!
